Our commitment: We do not use tracking cookies. We do not sell your data. We do not profile you for advertising. Cookies we use are strictly necessary for the site to function.
MopStar is the data controller for the personal information you provide when using this website. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, you can reach us via the contact page.
When you register as a professional, we collect:
We use this information to create your public profile, operate the platform, and communicate with you about your account and subscription. The legal basis is performance of a contract: you need an account to use the service.
Customers can search and browse the platform without creating an account. We do not collect personal data from customers unless they leave a recommendation, in which case we collect the information you provide in that form. We use this on the relevant professional's profile.
If you contact us via the contact form, your name, email address, and message are sent to us through Formspree (a third-party service). We use this only to respond to your enquiry. See Formspree's privacy policy for how they handle submissions.
We use one type of cookie: a session cookie. This is set when you log in and allows the site to recognise you as you navigate between pages. It is deleted when you close your browser or log out.
We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any form of third-party tracking. There is no cookie consent banner because we do not need one.
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, your payment details are handled directly by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe may retain billing information as required by financial regulations. See Stripe's privacy policy for details.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial reasons (for example, records of transactions).
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via the contact page. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify registered professionals by email before the changes take effect.
